I had the opportunity to attend the wedding of my cousin Nicole, and capture her and Julian’s special day in New Braunfels, Texas! I couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather along with an absolutely gorgeous venue, The Grande Ballroom . This french-style ballroom had a bit of a New Orleans feel to it which featured a grande staircase & chandeliers, and had captured the atmosphere of the wedding exquisitely. The historical Faust Street Bridge was also conveniently located right behind the venue and we were able to capture a stunning Texas sunset.
The ceremony was held outside near the Grande, in a simple but beautifully decorated area with a gazebo. When Nicole walked out with her dad, the whole crowd was still, and then the tears started flowing. The music was perfect and emotions were strong. What a memorable day for the two of them!
A BIG thank you to to all who helped us get those shots in….AND I must thank my husband, Jeff, who was down there helping throughout the whole day. He’s not usually in the wedding scene, but was carrying equipment, excellent with lighting and I couldn’t have captured half the images without his help-
Plus he was easy on the eyes all dressed up in his suit 😉 An added bonus!
Here’s a peek into some of the images we captured from our time down in Texas. And I must say, that I was definitely missing the warm weather down there, as we landed in Calgary to a nice welcoming blizzard!?!
We had to work quickly as the sun was kissing the sky with its last rays of light.. but let me tell you..the bridal party hustled! They were amazing in helping us capture some beautiful shots for Nicole & Julian in the short amount of time before our light was gone.
We also had a chance to do some more pictures with Nicole the day after the wedding by the water. A Bridal session is a great way to add to your collection of wedding images! And here’s a few other reasons why you may want to consider a Bridal session on a separate day from your wedding.
1.) You will be a lot more relaxed and there’s no worries about time
2.) You get to wear your dress again! Take advantage, its gorgeous, and you’ve spent a lot of money on it!
3.) We can pick any time of day for the best lighting, and it’s just FUN!
As the sun went down and we wrapped up the formals, we then headed back into the Hall for the rest of the reception and finished off the night as family and friends danced, chatted, and celebrated these two starting their new life together. They then made a grand exit with a bubble send off- What a fun night for everyone!
Congratulations Julian & Nicole! We loved being able to be a part of your special day.
A big shout out to my cousin Erin for bringing everything and EVERYONE together for the wedding, and for all the laughs! – love these two!
And of course at the end of the day, I had to give my good looking assistant a kiss for all his help! ….its a more cost efficient then putting him on payroll 😉
…Although this may not be an effective way to adjust business costs in the future- it might get a bit awkward for Jen & Rebecca when they are helping with weddings this year. Ha ha!
