Derek & Ashley ~Lethbridge Wedding at Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens

Derek and Ashley choose to exchange their vows in the pristine Lethbridge Nikka Yuko Japanese Gardens. We were fortunate to be able to share in all the joys of their day with them. Jackie met up with the girls at Shear Persuasion salon where the primping began to showcase the beauty of Ashley and her bridesmaids and of course celebrating the day early with mimosas!   Her makeup was done to perfection by Kristen Mrazek at Mrazek Makeup Artistry  Ashley finished off her look in an absolutely stunning gown along with the cutest words written on the bottom of her shoes.

I had the privilege of meeting Derek and the guys at the couple’s home here in Lethbridge. The guys had fun teasing each other as they got dressed in their suits that then paired with some comfortable DC shoes, but Derek also took a few moments to think about the day and prepare for the big “I Do”.

At the Japanese Gardens, Ashley took a few moments to have a touching first look with her dad. Just a brief moment to share in her joy with the first man of her life, before presenting herself to her guests and her groom. The ceremony was simple and elegant with the beautiful decorations provided by Pink Tie Events. The walk down the aisle was a bit lengthy, which worked out perfect as it gave everyone the chance to see her approaching before her groom, and built up the anticipation for Derek. 

 

Following the ceremony, family and friends joined in pictures before we sent them off so we could photograph the bridal party. This crew of friends kept things fun and entertaining as they joked back and forth and made sure that the Bride and Groom were not only well taken care of, but also enjoying the day. We also made sure to have some time with just Derek and Ashley to capture in print the love that radiates from the two of them. Being in the Japanese Gardens also allowed Derek and Ashley the unique privilege of recreating the beautiful wedding picture of Derek’s parents, who are a true example of love and beauty in marriage.

After pictures were done, we all gathered back at the Lethbridge Lodge for the reception. We highly recommend Beverly Lions from California Dream limousine.  She did an amazing job taking care of the wedding crew throughout the day in one of their sleek stylish limos. It was definitely a nice way for the wedding party to enjoy the day together without worrying about drivers and fitting everyone in different vehicles.

During cocktail hour, Ashley asked that we take a formal picture of each of the guests for the guest book. Because we were already set up for on-site printing for the photo booth, we also printed these pictures for the guests to take as a memento of the day. The reception continued with humorous speeches and a touching first dance.

The dinner was exceptional and prepared by Prime Catering here in Lethbridge and Hiway Productions set the perfect mood with music throughout the dinner and the rest of the night.  A stand out job by both of these fantastic vendors.

 

The night concluded with a StandOut Photo Booth with fun props and prints made on site for all the guests. There was no shortage of visitors to the photo booth as the guests were lively and entertaining. Later on, we were able to sneak outside for a few more pictures to capture the last light of the day.

We were able to be a part of such a fun, and memorable day, and honoured to have captured some beautiful memories. Thanks for inviting us to celebrate with you, Derek and Ashley.
